Party on the beach

In celebration of Roger's birthday, we all headed down to Lubanzi beach for a game of soccer and some tea and cake.

Sam, Kayleigh and I walked down together. We had an interesting discussion about how to turn their near-death experience into a movie called "The Cliff". It was quite tricky deciding who was going to play who.

As we descended down the last hill to the beach, we were overtaken by a mad white man on a bike: Roger. Kate had also just arrived (running on the road) and also Liz (driving the Le Roux's car) and Karen (driving a bakkie-load of local kids).
We had a fun game of soccer on the beach - boys against girls. Except for Roger, all the boys were about 5 years old! Liz earned herself the nickname Suarez by wearing a light-blue jersey and committing a hand-ball foul! Sam discovered a hidden talent as goalie, Kayleigh and Karen were our strikers, and i had fun being defense - except when i was scared i'd hurt the little kids.
Towards the end of the soccer game, the remaining party-goers arrived. The Le Rouxs and Gaunts walked with their kids. I am very impressed with Emma (3) and Gracie (4) for walking the whole way (its about an hours walk).
In Roger's honour, all the girls wore side-ponies. Roj is obsessed with the 80s.

Time for tea and cake with shelter from the not-so-nice weather. Karen made a delicious carrot cake :)

Me and my family. aaaw
